Dr. Misha Susoeff

B.Med Sc, D.D.S.

Finally… we are opening our new practice. It has been four long years of planning & preparation & I’m sure I have thought of everything.

I am so excited to be a part of the southwest Edmonton community, this is where I live and am raising my family. Something about this part of town feels special, and I strive to provide a special experience to my patients.I am combining thousands of hours of education and some of the most amazing technology and staff under one roof to offer what I believe to be an unmatched patient experience. I’m honoured and privileged to have this opportunity to serve my neighbours.

2015 will mark my ninth year practicing dentistry and from humble beginnings feel that I am truly finding my stride. My current philosophy is shaped by my experiences in private practice thus far. When I graduated from the U of A dental program in 2006 I was asked to remain at the school as a clinical instructor. It has been said that the highest form of learning is to teach, and in my experience this is irrefutable. When I first began teaching I was surprised to be challenged again and again. The students are sharp, and they force the understanding of fundamentals to refinement and depth.

I was lucky to find an associateship at Meadowlark Dental Centre where under the guidance of two experienced mentors Dr. Ken Luft and Dr. Ed McIntyre I was encouraged to explore my interest in surgery and dental implants. I formed a relationship with Nobel Biocare, the worlds largest dental implant company, and, quite to my surprise and without intention have become one of their top partners.

Despite the success of my implant practice, general dentistry remains my focus. The most rewarding aspect of my profession is the relationships built with families, which as my career progresses, I hope to see grow many generations deep. I endeavour to treat every new patient for a lifetime. With this in mind, my treatment recommendations for each person is tailored for a good outcome for later in life, not just today.

I once attended a motivational seminar where the speaker said: “If you serve people unselfishly to the very best of your ability every time you wont be able to stop success. It will break down your door and engulf you.” I hope to prove him right.

So, with the support of my amazing family and the confidence of an incredible team we commence a new adventure.

Welcome to Southwest Smiles. I am privileged to serve you!

Dr. Jessica DeSerres

B.Sc, D.D.S.

I am so happy to be a part of the amazing team at Southwest Smiles. Together we are committed to providing exceptional patient care to all generations.

Originally from Calgary, I completed a Bachelor of Biological Sciences degree with a minor in Psychology from the University of Alberta. I was accepted into the highly competitive Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta where I completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Throughout my 9 years of university, I was awarded a number of scholarships based on academic standing and community involvement through my extensive volunteerism.

I grew to love the City of Edmonton for its world-class festivals, amazing restaurants and of course our famous river valley. My husband Josh and I have built our lives here in Edmonton and have become actively involved in the community. In my spare time, I love to travel, cook, dance and spend time with family and friends.

I love being a dentist because I am able to build a long-lasting relationship with my patients. I strive to be compassionate, approachable and to provide exceptional patient care. Some of my most rewarding experiences have come from making anxious patients feel comfortable enough that they look forward to coming to the dentist. I believe in working with patients to find the best treatment option for their specific situation.

I look forward to meeting you, building a relationship, and creating a smile that you are proud to show off.

Dr. Lucas Milne

B.Sc, D.D.S.

I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta where I attended the University of Alberta and completed both a Bachelor of Science Degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. My passion for dentistry is driven by my love for patient interaction and interest in cutting-edge dental technologies. Not only do I strive to improve the oral health of my patients, but I enjoy performing cosmetic dental procedures that can positively impact a
patient’s self-esteem.

During my free time you can find me playing hockey in the winter and golfing in the summer. Moreover, I am a devoted Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimos fan! With a keen interest in orthodontics and endodontics, I hope to specialize in either one of those fields in the future.

I look forward to meeting you!

B.Sc, D.D.S.

I am pleased to join Dr. Susoeff and his wonderful team at Southwest Smiles. I am excited to be working with the most advanced technology and premium materials in a warm and welcoming clinic.

Born in the Maritimes, I was raised from a young age on a mixed farm in the badlands north of
Drumheller. I attended the University of Alberta, graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry. I have had a career-long commitment to professional development and continuing education. I have also had the privilege of working as a clinical instructor at the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, training dental students in restorative techniques. I enjoy the challenges and student interaction of teaching. I am passionate about encouraging and supporting the next generation of dentists.

My wife Shelley and I have lived in southwest Edmonton for over two decades, raising three children. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy family time, cycling, and photography, and I am an avid reader.

Over decades of practice, I have become known for my kind and gentle approach. I learned early on that patients don’t care how much I know until they know how much I care. I promote interception and prevention to encourage a lifetime of oral health.

I was diagnosed with a sleep-disordered breathing condition over a decade ago. At that time, CPAP was the only treatment option presented to me. After several years of exploring alternative treatments, research revealed promising results with an innovative dental solution. Oral Appliance Therapy is an effective treatment that is covered by many health plans. I now help others with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea problems. As a member of the Alberta Dental Sleep Medicine Club and The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, I stay current on recent research, educational resources and contemporary treatments.

I look forward to helping you to identify if you are a candidate for a custom sleep appliance and working with you to optimize your health and restorative sleep. We all want to enjoy improved health, longevity and quality of life.

Originally born and raised in Calgary, I completed my undergraduate studies in biological Science, BSc at the University of Calgary. I then moved to Edmonton and continued on to complete my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, D.D.S. at the University of Alberta in 2018.

During my free time, you can find me gardening and landscaping, mudding and wheeling in my jeep, doing automotive mechanical work and carpentry/woodworking. I also enjoy going to the gym and BBQing on my charcoal grill.

With quality dental care as my main goal, I aim to provide you with a positive and memorable experience every time you walk through the door.
